I’ve been having problems with jeepneys that I never thought I’d ever encounter… hence delayed arrival at Provill.

My last project: “Handle/Langit” started its shooting last Wednesday. It was a lot different than the last one since I am not originally assigned in it. It just so happened due to the absence of Janice (me show kasi! Ahahaha… Sample naman dyan!) Good thing I’ve meet Kuya Syke that allowed me to use his dslr and showed me a few tricks. It was such a dream… Alam mo yun??? I wanted to have a dslr… like everyone else of course and then finally handling one is just to AHHHHHH…. Well he told me one thing… “Hinihingi yan kay God!” If I want it that bad I’ll have it no matter what! After narrating the story behind him-finally-getting-a-cam I thought well its never to late!

I’ve also met kuya-trainee-ng-soundman that keeps on calling me emo! Tangina! Ahaha… Kuya I know you’re just bitter… I told him I like Hardboiledeggs that happened to beat his friend’s band at the Musiklaban!!! He doesn’t even know Taken by Cars!!! Sabi ba naman… “Ano yun? Emo noh?!” Duh!!! Anyhows you don’t know a lot bout my musical taste so better not jump into conclusions just because I told you I also like post hardcore! I like a lot of things to start with! Hay naku! I forgive him since he lend me his jacket and told me bout Our Last Night(band with a kid vocalist. 15???)

Moving On… Direk Dindo Martinez is just tooooo nice!!! After Kuya Eric telling him that I wanted to be a DOP he kind of interviewed me…

But he did allow us to focus the camera and roll it! Yeah! I’ve met a few UP Film Students that does their OJT for Direk Dindo… Hehehe… I don’t know if I’ll see them again… Our last shooting day will be this Wednesday but that’s also our Graduation Day! A Grand Graduation Day! All PM & PA will be contributing P200 just for our party! O di ba!!!

God I’ll be missing them…

Speaking of Missing

I’ve miss those familiar faces kaya when Jan told me about the Lomo exibit go na! Jane, Fhau, tita Jenny, Jon, Elli, Jan, Jugen and Geni was there at the new Team Manila Office for the “My Story in Lomography”… it was fun and cool knowing things like this…

Afterwards tuloy sa Saguijo! Ahahaha… Saguijo Virgin no more!!! God I what to live at San Antonio!!! The bakery in front of it pala has the best tasting pastries!!! Heaven… Speaking of Heaven… We got in Saguijo for free! Free for the first 50 people kaya Ok na Ok!!! Ahaha… I am totally lost talaga pag nasa gigs na ako! Trance… Taken By Cars played last kaya ang saya! Sarah is kinda tipsy which makes her look foxy! Ahahaha… it was great while it last!!!

We went back to the office. Offline, Client interlock… meaning food! Sheeet I am a GROWING PIG! Well at least I am having free lunch for more than a week now! Heavy Lunch, that is.

Took time to read the “Set Lighting Technician’s Handbook by Harry C. Box”…

I even wrote some infos on my notebook… hehehe… I am hell serious bout being a DOP! Its Heeeeeelllll too technical pero ayos lang!

Saw something that I am not supposed to see over the net… NO STUPID NOT PORN!

Today:

Went to office early… quarter to eight! Waited for an hour only to realize that they were all there at Optima (Post Production House) i like Roadrunner’s place a lot better but what the heck!

Saw Take Sempai… But he’s hell busy with the grading so might as well stay quite… watched the grading (manipulating the colors of the film or video)… left the room… its too technical… wla ako naintindihan… I am not there to ask questions… for now. Next week babawi ako! I’ll ask and I’ll take down notes na when we have our tour!

Went back sa office after the grading… did a few errands… Then Kuya Eric is adopting me again for the next project!!!

Thursday morning I finally got to do stuffs for the actual shoot… IDs, signage, vehicle reservation, then at 3:00pm online editing (for the first project of mine), which I wasn’t able to see… walang kwenta…
Good thing when they asked me to get the client she turned out to be cool and really nice!
I rode with Ms Ann, (left the Provill driver for the other client that stayed at the office) talked about her family as graduates of UST… except for her, listened to U2… and Eraserheads (which I gladly elaborated the paths they made after their career) realized I really know my music! Saw a big black mass of cloud (as if we were under the threshold of the night.) told me that if I am going to be a director someday she better asked for my autograph…
But what really strikes me the most is when she said the dreadful words… “Welcome to the real world!” It is freak at some point especially for me whom solely mastered every corner of my university, my only comfort zone. I realized that growing old will never be an option for me… maybe growing up! Yes, I’ll definitely grow up! But I’ll never grow old… old people are sad and alone… robotic and phony. I know you guys know what I am talking about… Anyways… I ended the day, or the night (it was 10pm) walking at Ayala trying to figure out the way home… I really do not want to talk about this one.

Friday… more preparations for the shooting day… set check… more revision… and
Small chat with Take Sempai (Our D.O.P.)

I was getting a slice of pizza when he approached me…

“How are you?” (In a very Japanese way of talking)

“Fine!” (I was trying to process what he just said, baka kasi mali dinig ko!)

“Do you know Kurasagi?” (i told him before that i like Jdorama)

“Yes! Yamapi!”

“Yes… the one with mafias… But I am still at the first episode…”

“Do you know Nobuta wo Produce?”

“Yes.. But I haven’t seen it…”

“You should watch it!”

“I like nodame Cantabile” (then he posed as if he’s playing the violin)

Our conversation ended like that… Boo… I am such a loser!!! I should have asked him more about whatever… Basta!

Shooting day! I was early… too early… ended early… wasn’t able to get a decent talk with Take Sempai…

I am so thrilled seeing the heavy lights he required for the shooting! Sa Japan kasi hindi issue ang equipments! Third world countries give big fuzz over this… Too many lights keme daw… I love it though! The space lights are awesome!!! God he suddenly turned into a hottie when he rode the foxy crane… hehehe… Yes! I have a thing for guys like that! I was planning to talk to him but well ang keme ko naman at biglang siya lang ang kakausapin ko! And besides he’s busy with the shoot and lunch time he was at the other table and all… Sir Raffy, the audioman kept me companied while I am having lunch at the props man’s table (wala ng table at di pwedeng sabay sabay kumain) he looks like Dan Humphrey’s father… rocker! He goes to Mayrics before!!! We talked about why am I having my internship at Provill… And everybody wanting to be a director… he told me to try Cinemalaya… OMG! I totally froze! Damn it how could that be? I never got a chance to discover my real passion tapos biglang sali sa Cinemalaya???

Hence… indie film with my dear friends and even those who just want to break the monotony in their lives…

PLEASE! HELP US BREAKFREE!!!

I want to do it now! NOW! NOW! NOW! We got no story… nothing really just the hunger and passion to do or even try to do it!!! Help Help Help!

Dinner time I’ve talked to Kuya or Ate??? Alex (Asst Prod Designr) and his friend Lea… He told me how he got into the business and so forth… then Ate Lea being trained by him as a prod designer as well… they are nice people! (No Take Sempai… the directors ate earlier so they could discuss things…)

During the pack up I took some balots (used as props) along the many others (parang relief goods lang kasi me plastic bags pa kami) then I offered it to Sir Randy (my other PM) he was with Take Sempai so I offered him balots as well… Actually siya talaga yun balak kong bigyan… and of course I ended up silent again… TANG INA!

Went home.

Right after umalis na kami (me, elaine, ryan) Alabang pa kasi yun! They wanted us to be at the Bossing's house for a pool/bbq party but hell its tooooo long for a journey.

I told Elaine bout the DOP thing and how impossible it is... But she said if you want it then there really is no problem with that... then come to think of it, im surrounded with the coolest people i've ever seen... Tamang kapit at passion lang iyan...

while elaine tOok the cubao bus ryan and i rode the lawton one... discussing the future is really inevitable... lahat na kasi nandun... take a pick na lang...

Ryan wanted to be a PD pla or a Line Producer... hehehe... I told him to tell Sir Edwin to take him as his apprentice... malay natin di ba! Sir Edwin is cool at mabait pa naman!

NU107 had an interview with BRENDON URIE of PANIC AT THE DISCO just this morning.

I was missing a lot of radio loving so before going to Provill I did some old morning ritual…. turned the radio on, full blast, while I am half way from dreamland.

Then Sophia, the dj, said she’s having a live interview with the frontman of PATD.

I really can’t recall everything and most of Bden’s answers were pretty much the same with the other interviews that I read…

But when Bden was asked when they will come over, he said: “maybe this august…or next year…”

Ok… maybe he thought he was asked when they are going to start touring???

Whatever. I am still sure they are coming over… so, PATD FANS be very prepared! YEAH!

Plus: He doesn’t mind the exclamation point… you can write it or lose it. Whatever!

I love this one!!! Just got from the meeting with the agency and I tell you being at the meeting with these people is the coolest!

Come to think of it… being a lowly intern… para maging glorified servant is actually cooler than I think… well mainly because I got to listen to every side… from client, to agency to the directors and to the production… hehehe plus maraming agency ang mapaghuhugutan mo ng ideas! Not bad! Sabi nga ni Sir Fran (UST grad) lahat ng tao sa advertising makikilala mo dito… after this you could decide kung anong gusto mong ipursue…

Btw, for project “Game Na” we’ll be having Direk Take (hapon ito)… ahahaha… when I saw him yesterday I knew I just have to work with him!!! At tumingin ka lang mag-smile na agad siya!!! Ahahaha! Bait sobra!

and so i thought it was an april morning... last day pla ng March...

i arrived on time for the tvc shoot... 4am, March 31, 2008 at Provill

they were packing and all... while i was busy doing nothing. To make a reasonable excuse i cant afford to carry those equipments so i just stayed silent ... for about 12hrs!

Alam nyo ba ang feeling ko?

Feeling ko multo ako! I was more like petrified actually. I cant move for some reasons and and yes even my lips...

By noon i realized that im not going to pursue production... Actually matagal ko na din itong sinasabi. That's the reason why i dont what to have my internship at abs or gma... Pero putang ina at ano itong pinasok ko?

After a while maam kata told me to get the client from the main office of san miguel. It was a relief! Im finally getting my ass off the location. I cant stand the silence anymore.

I DONT WANT TO BE A PRODUCTION ASSISTANT! DANM IT!

lunch time the crew were telling me stuffs how my PA got his job and sooner or later i could be like him! Ayoko nga eh! I was there actually to learn how a tvc is done but not to be a PA.

Sabi ko nga kay maam kata gusto ko sa creatives ng agency! tell you honestly I cant stand doing something that is not of my concept. Ayokong sumunod sa Agency... sa Client. I know i wont get anything kung ganito ako but i just cant stand it.

Evening mamamatay na ako! I finally said what i want! I want to learn how to operate that freaking sosyal na camera! I want to be a DOP (director of photography) i discussed it with the asst cameraman and he told me to get an SLR first.

OK. So i got money issues, ok. being a DOP doesnt just requires you to have the skills but also the money...

Thank God mabait talaga sila! Tae gusto kong umiyak! by the time we moved on ako na ang pinag shot list(yes, parang rush tv days lang!) and then yun... I 've finally become part of it!

BTW there is this apprentice of maam shayne(DOP) na tulad ko ay dapat gawaran ng parangal sa katahimikan. Lunch time, I found out that he is a son of a director and after studying sa BIGFOOT (tama nag-aral sya dun!) Maam shayne become his mentor... SO naisip ko baka tahimik din ako eh dahil ganun talaga ang mga future director... nagmamasid lang... Ahahaha... KEME!

sorry kasi di ako mausisa... I think i got to polish that... anyways... We kind of talk kasi magkatabi na kami at narealize namin na pareho kaming apprentice but then after a while narealize din namin na tae at pareho kaming ayaw magsalita!

We wrap up at 3:30am and i arrived at 4am.. 24hrs of not going to the CR. Yes mabuti ito.

8:30am NU107 texted me about my internship... I have to start tomorrow but i have to leave Provill for the whole of April!

I wanted to cry when i got out of the NU office! Putang ina! I want to work there! NU107 is My FREAKING DREAM SINCE God knows when... pero bakit ang daling sabihing gusto ko pang magProvill...

I totally lost my mind.

I have to do events sa NU!!! PUTANG INA ULI! EVENT EVENTS AT EVENTS! ano ba ang gusto ko? Parang nun nasa shooting ako wish ko magkaroon ng kausap about sa music na gusto ko pero bakit ko denicline?

Medyo na feel ko na rin kasi ang provill at last night, kahit bangag na ako i realized it was cool doing those things after all... Marami pang factors, one is strict un HR sa NU at madaming kemeng gusto... She is ok pero basta me parang mali...

Or BAKA GINAGAWAN KO NG MALI?

I get it! I want to be a DJ, not an event organizer... its ok pero un talaga un gusto ko sa NU. Grabe talaga!

Bad part there is... what if this decision is definetely wrong? Baka kasi 4hrs plang ang tulog ko kaya ganito???

i still dont know. If i want to do film or anything related to that and not sacrifice a good salary dun na ko sa creatives ng agency or director of tvc... TAMA ba?
